A trick to making track events is to plan ahead, bring food, share a hotel room, and save up. Ask anyone who attends a event and they will tell you that it's better to spend money on attending events than spending money to mod your car. The experiance and fun will be more valuable to you than say a new set of rims or a carbon fibre hood.
My goal is to try to do two events per year and I think it's possible, since I'm not really doing any expensive mods it should be easy, plus I now about how much I will need to spend.
Don't think of it so much as just racing, but as a vacation, because that's what it feels like and after you do one you will feel content and you don't really feel the need to attend another on for a while.
right on that vacation. Watkins Glenn is right close to Corning, the glass makers. Lots of stuff for the family to see while we are at the track. Can get expensive if the wife needs new dishes.......cost me a china hutch one trip...
and after you have done it a while you learn things that make it less expensive. Like some of the organizations give discounts to experienced people who don't need instructors. And you learn about 1 day events and some other things.
