New ST classes
It looks like the SCCA will be expanding the Street Touring class, by adding the STS2, and STU classes.
STS2 is for lightly modded(STS rules aply) 2 seaters, less than 1.8l on street tires.
STU class will include the "Ultimate" cars, i.e. Evo, STI... following the STX rules.
It looks like the SCCA is trying to make as many ST classes as stock, and SP.
Oh yeah dont quote me on the specifics of the classes I'm going from memory.
Check out http://www.sccaforums.com/cgi-bin/ul...ubb=forum;f=22 for the rest of the details.

Re: New ST classes
No STS2 for me. Torsens not allowed... Would have been nice, I almost got excited!
Some of the guys on miata.net are trying to alter the language of the rule set to include 94-97 miata's w/ Torsens. As it's written, you can run a 94-97 but it has to be w/ an open diff or an earlier VLSD out of a 90-93. No way am I taking out a Torsen to install a viscous or running an open diff.
Also, although the current (unofficial) ruleset includes 94-97 miatas, a 1.8L limit has been imposed on the class. A 94-97 miata is a 1841cc which would make it illegal for the class!!!
If the rules are modified in the official Fastrack, and my car is STS2 eligible w/ the Torsen, I will be running STS2.
