I do not race yet, just instruct. My E30 was essentially a Spec car without the cage (and on its way to being a legal logbooked car so I could get licensed)... but then whoops, I totalled it at Summit Point in June. With Ric B riding along, no less! Hahahahaha.
Anyway, enjoy... that's a great car you've got now-

Ric told me that story, that really sucks but it happens to the best.
As far as HPDE schools i have about 8 days, i was signed off solo for each event. The events were all at VIR and were with chin motorsports and car guys. I know this is not many track events but i've been told be some other racers that i should have no problem getting my comp liscense. I hope i do for that matter because it's 569 dollars haha.

Apparently it happens to the worst also, in my case.
Damn tie rods, lol...
So what are you intermediate solo level, not advanced? I mean have you ever passed in corners before or just on the straights? And do you have a logbook with instructor comments in it?
Jesus that's right... $350 comp school + $179 to race + $40 membership.
Good luck-
Jon

No i don't have a nasa logbook with intructor comments. I might have a logbook with chin and carguys but that's not really considered a logbook mostly just records. I've never passed in corners so the comp school will be the first time.
edit: i'm trying to get my rookie liscense, and i have never been to a nasa HPDE so i'm not really familiar with there different classes.

I don't know how to tell you this and no offense intended but... I don't think you qualify for comp school yet. I'm pretty sure you've gotta have some Advanced group (passing in corners, no instructor, etc) experience before you can get in. But I am certainly not an authority on the subject so tell ya what, you should definitely talk to the guy who decides about comp school entrants:
Chris Cobetto chris@nasaracing.net 804-275-3332
Worst-case you can just come do an intermediate or advanced group HPDE weekend at VIR in Feb and get your comp license later, no big deal.
Hope it helps-

Thanks for the advice, my dad actually talked to chris and that's the only reason i'm going to comp school. You are exactly right on the requirements for comp school, i'm not sure why chris is allowing me to run. In my opinion however i do feel i have the skills/talent to get through the comp school.
Thanks for all the help Jon and i hope to see you at the track in the future.
