Yeah the run I saw he was hitting the brakes at the gate before the timing lights. I also over heard his Dad tell him to not hit the brakes so early too.

dave I almost missed this event because no thread was started about it on this site. Still I was expecting not to see so many first timers since there was no thread here.

that accord belongs to dave, the guy that started this thread, if you dont recognize it its on his sig except he removed that sexy front lip for weight reduction
dave somtimes you have to sacrifice function for form... I guess not when one is as serious about autocrossing as you are. but anyways thanks a lot for helping me out with the my cars toe

Dash Fieldpaint, its started raining right when the third heat ended. I ran a 42.3xx in the rain. WOW never raced in the rain since I put that ST sway bar in... Everytime I was in a turn and I let off the gas a bit, the rear just wanted to swing around. actually I lost my inner fender plastic piece due to hitting some cones due to over correcting on a little over steer mishap

I enjoyed watching james completely spin around in the black 99 si that punk gets on here all the time but still doesnt have an account. maybe he will open one to reply to this.

I've never actuated the ABS while driving a car equipped with one, but I hear it's a very strange feeling if you are not used to it. i'm thinking that's what happened and he may have just had a split second 'wtf is going on' and that's all it took. aaron is a good driver, maybe he just could have been a little bit more used to the new car before taking it to the limits. he's had it only for a month now.

that's funny you said that. on my accord forum, the only performance only accord forum, the motto is 'function over form.' do you realize how hard it is to drive around with wheel well gap not to mention, the front lip also mad it a bit easier to hit cones as it reached out to get 'em.

39.48 was my fastest.

The azenis made a big difference in responsiveness. Just gotta get more seat time to get consistant and the times down.

I watched the kid in the blue srt4 on every run, he had TONS of time to break. i watched it happen from behind and I have no idea how to explain what happened. I can only guess he just over shot? but he missed a 4 foot long 2 foot high slab of concrete by 4-5 feet.

apparently I too was braking prior to the gate as well. i dont trust my brakes

I dont want to be a A$#hole but I'm not taking the heat for Aaron's misshap. I think Dave called it he has only had the car for a month and was pushing it at the end. He should have been able to stop in that distance no other car had a problem and it wasnt wet at the time. I am very sorry for what happened to his new car I know he was heart broken. That car was all he talked about during the end of last year.

But, I strongly feel that if you cant afford to wreck it dont race it. That is just my oppionon.

Sorry again Aaron if you stop by here and read this.

I was just referring to Keath calling your car a Prelude in DSP that I had to catch. I did well against you the first event but since then you've really handed it to me. Not to mention your in FSP. You definitely drive the tires off that thing and trying to catch you will be my unofficial motivation. I took significant time off each run (until the last) so what more can I ask for.

Another comment on the SRT4, no one should feel guilty about it, not even the driver. The driver should except responsibility and then focus on getting it fixed. In AutoX there are risks that have to be accepted. Don't get me wrong, if it were my new car I would be sick to my stomach for a while, but cars can be fixed.

If the driver reads this, keep your head up, figure out what you need to do to fix it and don't let it keep you from having fun with your car. Afterall, thats why you bought it.

oh, i didn't hear Keith say anything. I heard my name while I was working the course, but I could barely make out what he was saying. Keith and I have an unofficial competition with me just trying to beat his GS celica. i don't know how that thing goes so fast.

i think everyone needs to stop looking so hard into aaron mishap in the srt4. it's racing, and shit happens sometimes. it's just one of those things. everyone has made a mistake before, it just so happens at the end of aaron's mistake was some weeds. i've spun out a ton of times, scared some course workers, even missed the brake pedal with my foot once in a breaking zone. racing wouldn't be any fun if it was easy.

I ran a slow 41 secs on my first of 2 runs before the rain came in the 3rd heat.

I haven't watched it yet, but someone taped the srt4 accident w/ my camera. I'll put it up w/ the others after next weekends VMP autocross.
