do i have a chance?
FWIW, a V6 Mustang ends up being an easy car to prepare for autocrossing. The trick is to hook up with someone preparing a GT, Bullett, or whatever for ESP and get all the stock GT part they take off. These can usually be picked up for nothing or next to nothing. They make nice upgrades for the V6. you might want V8 rims, sway bars, springs, etc and just bolt them on. Granted you will need some other stuff, but there is so many parts and info avaialble for the Mustangs that they are easy cars to set up.
thats one reason i got the car. fairly cheap to begin with and alot of aftermarket products are made for it. should 17inch be the highest wheel size to go with?
I am not really sure.... I have an older V8 Mustang Fox body Mustang. How you prepare the car depends on what you want to accomplish with it. Right now you don't know because you haven't autocrossed it yet. I would suggest comming out to some events. Run your car exactly as it is with the only mods being putting about 40-45 psi of air pressure in the front tires and about 30-35 in the rear. Run in stock street tire (Mustang V6 is in G/Stock) class and have fun.
In stock you are fairly limited to stock parts. You can change shocks, alignments, wheels and tires. The Limits are that the rims can be of any brand of rim but must be stock diameter, witdth and offset(+-1/4"). you can change front sway bar and the exhaust from the cats back. Theses might help and you can have fun without spending too much.
If you chose to go to street prepared, you can change much more, but your comptitors can too. So... I suggest you come out to some local events and decide what you want to do.

yeah, just come out and have fun first. racing is kinda of like a chick. you're not sure how much of a freak she is, so you just gotta hit it first.
lol, i'm retarded.

waht tires would yall recomend? ive heard that BFG g-force t/a's are nice, but im not sure. the little BFG tires they put onmmy car stock dont hold up very well at all. or im jsut burning out to much.
ya the 6 will do you good. i have had alot of fun at the two i went to with mine. i just went up to 45 psi like they were saying and it held really well. i would have done better but it was the driver not the car.
MERF-- thanks for the comment. i have to assume it was me you were talking about since i was the only 6 banger at the bcc last month. wish i could have made this last one but couldnt do to work. hope to make it to pungo next week.

Just come out to the event! We've got people with all sorts of cars! Mustangs and Vettes, almost every generation of Civic and Miata, Hyundia's, Mini's, etc.
The biggest improvement you can make is to the loose nut behind the steering wheel
