I have a v6 manual stang. i want to get into auto-x but im not sure my car will be good for it. im clueless as to what to put on my car. if anyone could help me that would be great.

and sorry, selling my car for an import is not an option.

 

Put yourself in the driver seat, some air in the tires, and come out. At first, you will see the most improvement in your times come out of experience, not car set-up.

Your car probably has higher limits than you think...Come out and test them!

the V6 Mustang competes in a class where they can be fairly competitive. It might not be the best car for the class, but I am sure with a little set up and driven well they can win. FWIW my daughter has a V6 Mustang and will be autocrossing it soon.

 

sounds like he was thinkin he needed a beefy drag setup under the hood or something. some of the quickest times ive seen turned were by integras and miatas. there were close to if not stock. as far as the motor goes. its about the driver. not the power behind the car. tho it may help in the lond run. i think a v6 stang could be very competitive.

My dad runs a CRX Si and I run a 91 Si.

And Ed is right I have been doing this for a year and have just finished building my Civic and if I quit screwing with my set up I may be faster. Seat time seat time seat time!!!!!!!!!

i think i do have a chance. i was just wondering about body roll and stuff like that. the back seems to stay pretty well planted, but the front end has issues. CRX is nice, but this is a new car and i dont wana go buy anotehr car. if i do get another car it would be just for daily driving. iunderstan that whell time is the most important thing. in any form of raicng it is. crap mna even when i used to race carts at langley. but anyways. thats for your help guys.

 

I want to say that there was a V6 Stang at the third BCC (couple weeks ago)...he held his own pretty well, bone stock I believe. Just go for it! The 98 whp Miata owned the shit outta my 400 whp Supra, so the car matters not. It's driving and tiny details in tires/suspension. Then PAX takes care of the rest.
