Well I plan on going as long as I can finish up some bitts and peices. Like finding some front fender well liners (the plactic peices inside the well) without holes in them. They changed the rules this year in STS and you cant have any places where the tire has rubbed all the way through. Oh well I will be a big learning experiance and I am looking forward to it!!!!!

I'm thinking about going to the Pro. I've never driven in one, or even seen one, but it sounds like a ridiculously fun format. Even when I lose by multiple seconds, I figure I'll have a blast.

Sorry man I didnt mean to sound dickish......
I plan on having my arse handed back to me. I have only been autox'n for a year now. I got bit so bad that I had to build this car. Now its time to see how I stack up. I am still trying to find out how it all works.
From what I hear the courses are like 70 seconds long and have like 5 cars on course at a time. I wish I had more info.

The DC National Tour last year was a hoot. Big, fast , TECHNICAL, and well attended. Over 275 people last year.
You run with your class so as to lessen ambient advantages.
The key to these National courses is momentum maintenance and, suuuuper importantly, getting on the gas ASAP. Understeer (push) and you're dead. You cannot have even an ounce of push because it prevents you from early power-out.
STS should have at least 10-15 guys, most National competitors. By the end of the event, you will know where you sit speedwise against the good guys.
I'll be there in the miata, or maybe I'll see you in STS!
A PRO is a different animal altogethr. Two mirror imaged courses side by side. Two competitiors at a time side by side with a drag tree for a start. 12 runs total, 6 per side. Best two from each side gives you your total time. Red lights=DNF. The timer starts on the green light and if you cut a good light you may be half-a-car ahead right out of the hole. This is an absolute BLAST. I have more fun at one PRO than all year of small parking lot autocrosses. Many National Champs @ PRO's. If you can do well (trophy) at a pro, you can do well anywhere...
A PRO is hard on equipment (12 launches @ 6500rpm), and as in a Tour, understeer and your a sitting duck. But Sooo worth it.

I plan on attending the DC Tour again and the Pro time permitting. I had a blast last year at the DC Tour event (even though I got shelacked!!). If I go this year, I plan to have a much better showing since I have more experience under my belt and the car will be better prepared. But most of all it was a blast.
