I'ev been running a zex box on a b16a. The box worked fine for a while, but it's just backfiring when i use it now? Anybody have this happen to them?

 

is your bottle empty? or very low on pressure? sounds like the box is upping the fuel pressure but you dont have shit in the bottle....lol

 

check bottle pressure, ignition, and sparkplugs.

 

bottle is near full. It went out on me while at the strip. when it happened the air tube got knocked off the intake and the air filter separated in two places. one plug was partially melted away as well. I've checked the compression in all cylinders-it's ok. I changed all the plugs and it still does it, maybe not as bad but it still sputters and backfires. The motor runs perfect without it.

 

i think the nitrous solenoid is bad cause everything seems well until i hit the button.

 

whats your bottle pressure? u might have a full bottle, but if its cool out nothing is going to happen. also check you nitrous niod. make sure it woks.

 

hey i had that problem too what is happening is your solenoid is getting stuck open even after you have let off or while your spraying and its got all that extra nitrous in the intake tube because you throttle body blade is closed or just not full throttle any more i just got a new solenoid and the proble went away

 

nitrous backfire! be carefule with that.... dont spray it anymore call ZEX! also run a wet kit!

 

make sure the box is still set right as for as the tps activated switch should be spraying at wide open throttle, had the exact same thing happen before and my buddy that helped me screwed up with the gas pedal and it was spraying with closed throttle

 

i got the zex box wired to the button on my shifter so the box is only on when i hit the button. The TPS has been adjusted where it should be. I checked it with an ohm meter. I ordered a new solenoid, it should be here in three days.
