does anyone know what the stock turbo on the WRX is and how much psi it runs stock and much it is good for as well as much hp it can handle.

as far as stock...i've heard on the 02-03 they run around 13 or 14 but when i data logged my 04 i was peaking at around 12.

They are decent, you can pretty safely run 18psi(i think) but anything above 15 and it starts to taper at high rpms. Apparently the turbo can't flow high boost at high rpms(so i've been told) so basically it will climb, than peak around 4500...than start to go back down.

 

its a tdo4-13b or g. i have same turbo in my volvo. The turbo is worthless. Its dead after 15/16 psi. Well also cams help with the small turbo. ALL I have to say its bigger then a T25. LOL


If you want fast spool up you can get tdo4-19t it flows pretty good since it has 3 inch exhaust housing. The turbo is about 900 new.

 

Yup what he said. Thoes turbos arent realy for big numbers at all. My boy upgraded to an18g and it is awesome.
