Default Window help

Whats up guys, Im having a problem with my window on my Nissan 350z. Ive been posting on the 350z forums but those guys are arrogant assholes for the most part. So anyways, I was driving the other day and rolled my windows up not realizing that my girlfriends hand was still out of the window, I stopped it just as it pinched her hand a little. The window is now stuck in that same place.

I've bought a new window motor and installed it and the window still wont work. Im thinking it might be something in the rails maybe? what do you guys think, any input is appreciated.

Check the fuses. It almost sounds like there is a safety feature that stops the motor when it feels resistance to movement before it should. Hard to say.

So it doesn't move at all, up or down?

I'm guessing what possibly happened is that the window regulator has a current sensing circuit that made it think that the window was all the way up. The motor current would have increased when your girlfriends hand was pinched in the window, so the regulator might have reset the end-of-travel to that new position. It sounds like that car uses a stepper motor instead of a regular DC brushed motor, which might explain a lot. Well, to me at least.

Very interesting, there is a limit switch reset procedure TSB that sounds like it may be useful:

http://www.350z-tech.com/wiki/index....eset_Procedure

Google "350z window motor reset" and see if people's problems sound like what's going on.

thats for the response. Ive tried to do the reset before and that didnt cure it. the main thing is that the window doesnt move at all. when I installed the new window motor i heard it move a little bit then it stopped straight away. Im starting to lean towards something being up witht he rails or something electrical. God I miss my honda when it comes to this shit!

I've done some research and it seems that there is no particular fuse for the power windows, and even if there was the driver side and all auto locks are working. Im going to rip everything out of the door tomorrow when i get a chance and inspect it. Ive had this 350z for going on 2 years now and the only issues ive had is with both windows. The driver side was a simple motor swap out so im confident i didnt screw anything up when installing the motor on the passanger side. we'll see what tomorrow brings!

I also saw that a lot of people had problems with their window switches not working consistently, so that may be something to look at also.
