Will this tire size be alright for my car?

I drive a 95 Civic, and the best fitting tire size for a 15" rim on the Civic would be the 195/50-15. I love how wider tires grip, and I'm hoping to get tires sized 205/50-15. Would the 205s be able to fit without being too risky? Right now I'm riding on Fat Fives and plan on switching to MB Weapons in the near future.

Thanks.

205/50s are fine. That's what I have on my car and that's what a ton of other Honda owners have on their car too.

It's not lowered...yet. Hoping to give it a one or two finger gap in the near future.

I know my friend's Teg runs with that size, but it also fits one of the recommended sizes in the Honda Tech FAQ. Some guy told me to stick with 195/50 because he said the 205s will throw off my gauges and make my car accelerate slower? What's that all about? I didn't know making a tire wider would have that affect. I understand messing with the entire radius.

The tires is a little bit taller than a 195. On a 195 the sidewall is going to be 50% of 195MM vs. 50% of 205MM on a 205/50, but it's not that serious where you should worry about it. It's a 10MM difference and IMO looks better.
