Why i fail emissions?
I am always having emissions problems. Anyways thought someone could help me out on this one. I have a 2001 Prelude. It was an auto but man swap. Recently got the car couple months ago and when i went to get emissions I couldnt pass because something was wrong with the OBD connector. Would the manual swap have anything to do with it? or is it a problem with the ecu? Would appreciate some help. Thanks.
the car may be running an OBd 1 ecu on a jumper harness, pull the carpet from under the glove box on the passenger side floor and check your ecu code. If it has a obd 1 ecu, its will not pass va emissions with that ecu in the car as it not compatible with obd 2 emissions equipment.
yep. If it's a hondata system, you need a obd2 ecu, and a good cat and o2 sensors, or you "garage" your car in another county that doesnt require emissions and pay their property taxes.
You have to do that at dmv btw
