Ok my spedometer on my 97 jetta gl is still not working after i changed the vehicle speed sensor and pulled and checked the transducer. Anything else i should check?

 

The wiring? Cluster? There are many other possibilities...

 

who did you buy it from,most vw clusters for that series(?) get loose connections,drive it and then just hit the dash to see it the speedo moves,if it does just pull the cluster out get some electrical parts cleaner and clean the plugs and make sure they are tight

 

Pulled the cluster and checked the harnesses and connections and they are all good. This shit is agrivating the hell out of me.

A friend of mine. I was aware of the problem when i got it and thought i would be an easy fix.

 

use a multimeter or just a simple test light and go from the guage and work your way back till you find a dead spot
