Default vtec not working

I got the h22 in the teg, and when i give it gas, the torque is great until about when vtec kicks in and then the rpms just give out. I have enough oil in there for vtec.....someone else was telling me it could be the cyllanoid. Anyways, just trying to get some ideas. Let me know if possible.

Yes it could be the solenoid. Did it ever work at one time or is this a new swap?

make sure you have a CEL in your cluster first. then if your car is throwing a cel it will pop on.
