Wondering if anybody has ever put type r rods in a single cam or heard of anybody doing this. Idk if it will take much work to have it done so any suggestions will help. Thanks

Re: type R rods in a sohc???
I think they have to be milled to match the narrower single cam crank and also need to have a sleeve pressed in to reduce the size of the wrist pin bore. I think the block has to be clearanced too. I can't remember how the crank length matches up. I've never done it, because I can't see spending any money to modify a set of stock rods when you can buy a set of aftermarket D-series rods for pretty cheap. Actually, the real reason is that I don't do anything with single cam engines.
Anyway, I'd sell the ITR rods and buy a set of proper rods for your engine. There isn't going to be too much price difference since you would have to pay to get the ITR rods modified.
