Using a 2000 JDM ITR head on a OBD-I block and computer, would this work or would the system need to be changed over to OBD-II?
Does anyone locally tune with Crome? I have a few general questions and PGMFI.org is down for maintainence. (Tuning with JDM ITR injectors or RC, anyone have a resistor box for sale?)
Does anyone have experience porting an intake manifold? I'm kinda on the fence about porting it or not; I also can't find a local shop that has enough experience porting manifolds for me to have them do the work.
I'd like to find a local that can weld exhuasts, I need 2.5" piping (mandrel bent), and a hi-flow cat. Pretty simple deal, I'll have the pieces (flanges and all) and you just weld them together

Re: Type-R
Well, I figured if it used the OBD-I distributer I shouldn't have a problem. I just need to get everything figured out so I can get this thing together and get the stock head off this block, it needs work.

Re: Type-R
Providing this is already VTEC, the only differences in wiring harness of OBD1 and 2 are:
*injector clips
*distributor connector
*alternator connector
*OBD2 has a secondary O2 sensor clip
*OBD2 has a knock sensor
*if GSR motor will be swapped in, add secondary butterfly wiring
Note:
-some OBD1 cars uses a one wire O2 sensor, convert that to 4 wire
-if NOT already VTEC, run 3 extra wires from the ECU: VTEC solenoid, VTEC oil pressure sensor, VTEC oil pressure sensor negative.

Re: Type-R
It is a factory B17A1, and I'd like to use the Type-R injectors that come with the head, for tuning.
This motor doesn't come with any secondary butterflies, I will be using a P73 manifold and an aftermarket throttle body.
If I keep OBD-I I shouldn't need the OBD-II wiring harness and such, correct?

Re: Type-R
You really are.........
I've already said the differences on the wiring harness. The ITR injectors are OBD2, which means you will have to use OBD2 injector clips... unless, of course you are already using an OBD2 motor harness.
You are right, B17's dont come with a secondary butterfly.... so that eliminates the need to run that specific wiring.
So, if your motor harness is OBD1, you'll have to use OBD2 injector clips for the ITR injectors.
Hence, if you are using OBD2 motor harness, and you want to use CROME, which uses OBD1 ECU's, you can still retain the OBD2 motor harness and just buy an ECU conversion harness to allow for an OBD1 ECU......
Here, let's make it simplier..... What motor harness are you using? I will tell you exactly what clips/connectors you will need to use.

Re: Type-R
I'm using the B17A1 in a stock 92 Integra (OBD-I), I plan on swapping the head for the 2000 JDM ITR head. I can stick with the low-impedence injectors that came with the B17 unless I push them into or past the 80% duty cycle. The only reason I'd like to use the high-impedence injectors is for tuning out the last little bit of power.
OBD-I ECU (P-61?)
OBD-I Harness
Tuning with Crome
The easier this thing comes together the better.
