Default Turbo Question

I'm starting to piece together a turbo kit for my BMW this winter, and I have to oppurnunity to buy a turbo relatively cheap. The only problem is that I have no idea what the different trims are.

the turbo that I've found is a: A T04b S trimp comp, 0 trim turbine

Could someone please explain to me what the different trims mean, and if this is a good idea?

Trim is (minor wheel diameter/major wheel diameter)squared x 100. It can also just be a term used by a company, which is what it is in the case of the T04.

And a good idea? I'd learn some more about turbo's before you try to piece a kit together.

I've learned a fair amount about turbos, and I'm trying to learn more (hence me asking questions). I'm just starting to get parts together, it won't be done any time soon anyway lol.

Not that this helps your learning process any, but you don't want a T04b anything.
