He doesn't want to get a kit, he's researching, and learning about what he needs to have to have a complete turbo kit. It's not like he's going to get it tomorrow or something, it's just research.

I agree. Not to be negative about this whole deal. If budget is tight, to get a decent custom set-up, it will still cost some $$$. The thing is, you cant go too cheap on these types of project unless you know what you're doing. Getting a kit is not a bad way to go, especially on a first set-up. Here's the latest kit in the USDM land that's leading the power gain on B engines:

Wait a minute.....Did you know what you were getting into when you first (I mean back when a short ram intake was a new thing to do to your car......) started tunning?.......You guys pick on the ones who want to learn but then call them rice when you give them no other option but to turn to a Drag gen II.....You all complain about rice but wont educate them into propper tunners.....(Hypocritical) This in turn is why there are so many of them..........(Ricers)....

But....(this is to the starter of this thread......heres a link for you...its to a book you should buy before you do anything.....

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...792532-7123118

its a really good begginer book....Its called "Maximum Boost" Its about designing turbo setups.....

No, I didn't know what I was getting into when I first started modifying my car but I also didn't start with such a large and complicated upgrade either.

My first upgrade on my 1.5 single cam motor was a dc header and Z speed short shifter. Shortly after I had an exhaust installed and then made a cold air intake from scratch(which I still use by the way). I then educated myself about camshafts and their duties in an engine. Once I had a general knowledge of them I upgraded the cam with help from a friend of mine that is a Honda Technician. Once everything was all said and done I was still driving a high 15 second car, but felt good with the results seeing as the car was a high 16 second car to start. My point is start with basic modifications and learn your way into the more complicated ones. Most people feel that there is nothing wrong with not knowing a damn thing about what they are getting into and just asking what parts they should use. I for one feel that I am not going to give away the information I worked hard to learn, over the last 6 years, on someone that doesn't want to take the time to read a book or troll more informative automotive sites to learn what they need to know. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I researched for 4 years to get my car where it is at today and I am proud of the fact that I did all of the research and put the whole motor together with my own two hands.
