10 mm socket takes care of it once you get the radio bezel out of the way. check the fuse on the back of the radio, right by the radio plug. only other thing it could be would be a fuse in the car or by some freak chance there was a voltage spike that fubar'd the radio. That last one is not very likely.

and as far as the amp wire melting...if you have a 100 amp fuse on 8 ga power wire I have seen the fuse block will melt because of the heat of too much current running through too small of a wire...think about drinking through a coffee stir or through a regular straw

The fuse that was in the actual amp. I looked at it when I got it and it looked fine. Maybe it just got to hot back there for it. I +rep'd everyone that helped btw
On the amp where the fuse goes it says 40a so I put in another 40a, but I'll look it up or try to. I bought it slightly used from a guy up here awhile ago lol
everything should be fine now then, lmao
oh ya, make sure the inline fuse is rated according to the power cable. Not your power/current goals necessarily.
