Whats the safest way to remove tint? I want to go ahead and remove it myself rather than pay some shop to do strip it and redo it..also whats the safest way to get around the rear defroster? thanks

peel the tint and use acetone to wipe-down the glass. takes awhile, but removes the glue w/removing the defroster lines. that's how we did it when i worked in a tint shop.

for regualr side door windows use either a heating tool or your hair blow dryer (might take longer) but it gets the job done! for the glue, very hot water should get it off with no problem!

Use a clothes steamer. They're cheap and do the job with little mess.

And yes, I've removed tint using a clothes steamer.

Throw some ammonia in the steam solution, it will work a bit faster. Ever wonder why you're not supposed to use Windex on tint film?

do the same things apply for just the glue? the person who owned my car before me peeled the tint off very sloppy, so now the window looks super dirty because of the glue...
