sr20det turbo noise?
I swapped turbo's about 5 months back and now I have a gt2871r. It was fine up until 2 days ago when it started making a really loud whirring noise whenever I boost.
Normal turbo would sound like "shhhhhh" this sounds like "whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" and is about 30x louder than normal.
I've checked the downpipe and it's not cracked, I checked the manifold, I couldn't see it very well, but it didn't look cracked.
The car still pulls the same, and still boosts fully - 18psi.
Any ideas on what's causing this?

It sounds like the famous turbo death noise. Fortunately this noise also happens when the bolts back out a little where the turbo and manifold meet. It still sucks having to tighten those bolts up though. Try and get a wrench on them as best you can.
You cannot always visably see that they've loosened themselves, try them all with your fingers first. Hopefully you have your OEM metal bolt locker things on there, otherwise you might be missing a bolt or two already.
