You can do BikiROM, a PLMS daughterboard which is what I'm using for the moment, Enthalpy or JWT tuned ECU, and another option could be a SAFCII. In my opinion the best option for the price is a daughterboard or BikiROM. BikiROM runs somewhere around $500 and a PLMS daughterboard is like $70 US shipped.

Yeah, but Tim....How cool would it be to say "I'm running AEM EMS"

But seriously, I know nothing about those.

Have you looked into MegaSquirt? Cheap (as far as cost goes) standalone.

I am about to install one (megasquirt) for a customer for there SR20. The only thing is that there are some extras that need to be picked up to have it work properly. If you only have 550cc injectors, upgraded maf, and possably a bigger turbo than I would look at just rom tuning the ecu. There would just be less down time that way. And there is enough adjustability in the ecu to take care of that. Once you want to do away with the maf or have agressive cams, or a big ass turbo is when I would look to go standalone with a Nissan of that generation.

Isn't Megasquirt not as compatible with the SR20 because its distributerless?

I'd just stick with simple rom tune and fine tune it with an SAFC.

Their ROM is still new but they are getting great feedback. They are tuned with a stock FPR.

No you can run Megasquirt in a DIS format but there are things that have to get modified or replaced. We are setting one up on on a 20v 4a that we are converting to DIS. We are only uning the distributor as a sensor and removing all the unused parts.
