SR vs. KA, if its a repost im bringin it back
Ive heard arguments from every side for alonnnng time. I just bought a 90 240sx shell and a new rebuilt DOHC KA with full intentions of having it boosted in the next 3 months. I have 2 friends 1 who had with a boosted KA and one with the SR (they have both sold their cars). The KA has lasted and outstanding amount of time and runs like brand new to this day. The SR lasted for a bit and then had a "knocking problem" and was replaced with another SR and sold. The SR ran a low 14 to high 13. the KA was running flat 13s.... What im getting at is the KA is reliable apposed to a JDM "low mi" SR.... honestly how in the hell do u know if its low mi or a bunch of bs? I really don't trust swaps with engines that never were released in the US (a version was released in the sentra in a FWD but non turbo). They can show you the picture of an Odometer of like 30k. But they could ship you one easily with over 100k and on top of that has not run in over a year, meaning u may have to spend more in a rebuilt or re manufactured motor. Also u can easily spend over 5k buying and installing the motor instead of just building the KA.
A little more Technical:
SR20:
Provides 205 HP at factory setting of 7 PSI
Can only handle up to 280hp reliably on stock internals.
KA24:
220+ HP boosted and very reliable
Up to 300hp on the same bolt ons you would do on a SR20 without having to do any internal work and paying for the swap.
Can handle 15psi of boost safety on stock internals.

lol....oh no. I have had them both.
Is all on the tune and how well you take care of your motor. Who the hell told you sr internals are only good for 280hp? wrong.
Talk to people who have done both swaps and they will tell you that each motor runs different.
