Default Re: short ram and cold air

a cold air intake goes down by the bumper and fender where it picks up cooler air. the filter is further away from the engine. air is cooler= cold air

the problems with a cold air intake are the air can't travel as fast because of the distance the air must travel which ='s friction. also when it rains it is very easy to suck water into the engine. thats bad

short ram draws air from inside the engine compartment which is hotter but you get the air in a lot faster because of a shorter distance. i like short ram best.

both give good power increases

the best ideia is to find a short ram intake with a box that blocks the heat included.- can be exspensive

good luck

Short Ram=better throttle response and more mid range power
Cold Air= throttle response will remain close to the same but a little bit better and improve higher rpm power.

For you id go with short ram since you dont have vtec and even though its mainly toward mid range power its exactly what you need in an ls
