I have swapped in a s14 dohc into my 89 s13 but i am having trouble getting it to run. I got it to start up once but it would idle. The motor when i got it had the emissions deleted. I really don't know what hooks up to the vacuum lines toward the back of the intake and under the throttle body of the intake. I have spark at the plugs and the fuel pump and injectors are geting fuel to the plugs. Some help would be greatly appriciated.

Also download the factory service manual for the year car the motor is out of and the year car you have.

 

ok i got it to start and idle but it overheats and the heater blows cold air. The temp gauge read ok but smoke comes out of the coolant overflow tank. I have replace the thermostat and the head gasket was replaced. I just bought a new water pump i haven't installed it yet though just wanted to get an idea of what could i do so if i don't need to put on the water pump i can return it.
