very true sucka, but with owning that comes the responsability of NOT leaving it in gear and remembering to put on the parking brake... something everyone should regardless if they have remote start or not.

yeah, but what if a friend is fucking around with your remote that you just had in you room. or what if yo go pick up your car from a shop and you dont think to check if your car is in gear??? little what ifs let the people who makes laws think its a better idea to keep it illegal

Get a Clifford Solaris, they are designed to remote start a manual tranny car. You keep the car running, get out, and arm the remote start option. The alarm does a diagnostic check (I'm in running, the e-brake is on, so I'm not in gear) and then shuts the car off. Then it's ready to remote start when you want it to. It's totally safe, and works great.
I have a friend (you know who you are) whose car ran through a fence because it lurched trying to remote start while in gear with a clutch bypass. That's not a safe thing to do..

if you're using a DEI product there is a black/white wire on the harness with the tach & brake wires. that connects to your neutral sensor which reads ground when in neutral. if not in neutral then the alarm will not read ground thus not starting the car.
