Ok first off, I already have 0 gauge and a battery in the trunk from the stereo (took out). I had to remove the battery up front for a Canton IC coolant tank.

My question is what all is involved in the wiring? Like what do you do with the factory wires, cutoff switches, etc. I pretty much just need to know how to wire it. Thanks for any info.

I would think you would just have to run your battery wires from the trunk up to the front of the car, hooking them up to where the original battery was hooked up to.

Thanks PA, should I just ground the factory battery cable to the chassis in the front and separately ground the battery in the rear? Instead of running two wires back. Thats how ive always done it when I add a second battery.

So basically just hook factory +terminal to kill switch, then from kill switch to the + on the back battery? I just figured it wouldnt be that simple.

if you are going to run at the track like that then you have to wire it up so the kill switch cuts power to the alternator also that way when the car is running and they flip the breaker the car wont run off the alternator.

Yes, easy as pie. Ground in the back, and ground in the front. You can often remove the stock battery cables and hook directly to whatever studs they were attached to. Don't bother running another ground between the two, unless you want to. I would also put some type of breaker or fuse in the back at the battery, just in case the cable gets pinched or shorted. There isn't any need for any protection at the front, just wherever the battery is. I'm glad you have 0 gauge, because you get twice the voltage drop for that wire length (vs. the stock battery location) when starting the car, i.e. one voltage drop when charging the battery, then another when starting the car. With a decent battery, you should have no problems.

Thanks guys. Wheres the best place for a cut off to be mounted, or is there a certain place the NHRA requires? Most of them Ive seen are under the rear. So pretty much run the wire from the battery to the alt, and then to the starter?

Ok this is a shitty PS, but gives you an idea.

What do you do with the connections for the original battery? I originally had a 200amp isolator (digital) with all wires run to that. Now all of that is removed. I just hate doing things twice is all. Thanks for the info guys.
