ok,well hes putting in a b18c and is going to evetually turbo it,so now im all confused is the ls transmission better than the gsr transmission, or gsr better than ls? also its going into a 93 DA, which isnt the gsr hydrolic and the ls cable driven or something like that, so would a gsr tranmission work or which is better?
thanks for the help so far.

The YS1 is cable and what you should have in that 93 DA. The great thing about the YS1 is that you can use all of the hydro gear sets, diffs and rings that you want.
I still say that you should use a shorter gear setup but I'm not doing to get into an agurement over it. If you really want to see the truth...just do a search on Honda-tech for tranny setup in.

I'm quite sure you will get the info you want.

the shorter gearing has the ability to be faster with the right driver. all else equal-the itr gearing will produce faster(quicker) times than ls gearing.

In short: You will need more torque (power) in order to pull the same times with longer gears than with shorter.

Depends on the setup.

He said "all else equal".

I think he means a stock Type-R motor with an LS trany will yield a slower 1/4 mile time than a stock Type-R motor with a Type-R trany.

Sure. But all else equal on a different setup is a different story.
