Default Power steering pump

In my 98 cadillac Deville, i believe the power steering pump went out. It used to be really jerky when i would try to make turns, but now The steering wheel won't allow me to turn to the left, but DOES allow me to turn to the right. Its strange because i always thought that when the power steering went out, it wouldnt work when u turn it to either side. The car has plenty of fluid. Does any one have any input? could it be something else such as the power steering rack?

if the power steering feels like it works when turning to the right, but not the left, i would suspect the ps rack.

did you inspect for any fluid leaks?

did your power steering ever go all the way out? or did u replace the rack as soon as it started getting jerky?
