ok gear heads get your thinking caps on-
here is the situation- about a week ago we had a horrible damn rain storm and a puddle that looking shallower than it seemed actually covered me up to my bottom door jam. The car stalled out and all I could think of was shit- hydrolock.
I actually got it started again but it was very hesitant and actually died a few more times before I made it home. I was revving pretty high when I came out of the puddle but I have a nicely built head on the LS engine so that wasn't a problem.
the car is still running bad- loping idle, dies after a few miles of driving and this afternoon my newest symptom, overheating.
I filled the beast up and started it up. Still loping- I pull out each of the plug wires one by one, cylinders 1-3 just fine- cylinder four no change.
Pulled out the plug, it has water on the tip. Leave the plug out and start the car and water vapor starts shooting out of the plug gap.
So- here is the question: is it a blown head gasket, possibility of a cracked block or something else entirely. I managed to watch the water from the cylinder creep back down the piston so I'm thinking its blown head gasket. Its still driveable but just barely.
any ideas or other tests?
Thanks in advance.
Oh, and if you don't know what the fuck your talking about, stay the fuck out of my thread.

the overheating does point to the headgasket, the lopey idle is probably because of the water you mentioned interfering with spark, if its smoking alot you prolly ruined you valve seals and possibly warped the head during overheating, best bet...change the oil, pull the head and get it resurfaced with new valve seals, new headgasket and hope for the best.....i would do a compression and leakdown test to see if there is a leak prior to doing any of that.....
Is the car smoking at all when you have it running? and if so what color is the smoke that's coming from the Exhaust...that can also help to determine what the problem may be...
Best of luck to you and sorry to hear it...
