Planning on changing exhaust and chipping my GTI. Few questions.
I want to change my exhaust on my 2005 1.8T GTI, and have been looking around/talking to a few people. I know the ideal exhaust would be a full turboback system, but I'm on a bit of a budget.
I'm thinking about doing a 2.5" or 3" catback system on it. Any suggestions or comments on that?
Also, either before or after (haven't decided yet) I'm going to do the Stage 1 APR chip upgrade. I was told that when I change the exhaust I'm going to get a CEL, and it's nothing serious or wrong with the car just throwing it because of the new system (something with o2 sensors). I was told that when I do the chipupgrade that it will wipe that CEL as well.
Is the flash worth it?
Thanks.

talked to gary at superior automotive today, he said he could make a custom cat-back for me for a pretty good price.. i think he wants to do it the same size as the stock exhaust. in order to go up to like 2.5" or 3" would i need to change out the downpipe/cat to 2.5" or 3"?
could i get him to make a bigger cat back and go back later and put in a matching downpipe when i get the cash?

The APR flash is worth it. i would also suggest looking at the 42DD downpipe. I've had it on a few cars. IMO, you should do the flash first, then downpipe, then catback. Its the biggest bang for your buck. APR usually has seasonal sales for $499 fully loaded. You can get the test pipe program which eliminates a CEL when and if you upgrade the downpipe.
