painting questions
I'm painting some steelies and i sanded the shit out of them with a wire brush and drill to get the old paint off. I thought i got it really smooth but as soon as my first coat of paint dried it looks rough as shit.
Is there anything i can do to make it look better or do i just need more coats or paint?
Thanks,
Jake

Re: painting questions
a wire brush. haha yea thats rough as hell, thats prolly equivalent to 36 grit sandpaper. only thing you can do is get some real thick urethane primer, lay it down, and then prep the primer and wetsand with some 600 or higher grit paper for a nice smooth base.

Re: painting questions
sand it back down with some 220 wet and dry sand paper. spray it with a primer first. You may or may not have to sand the primer coat. Mine I did not, but I also did not sand the wheels at all. If it looks good spray the paint next. if it looks rough you will have to sand and prime one more time before painting.
