Default Nissan Questions

I have recently been interested in a 1993 240sx. I was just wondering about some basic information about it. I am thinking about crossing over from the dark side and getting rid of the crx.
I just need basic info like; does it have lsd, potential of the ka. and anything else you guys think i should know.

it only has lsd if it's a super hicas model. so probably not. potentials of the ka.. too broad. a ton of guys swap a sr20det motor into a 240sx (sr20det is turbo).

oh yea... you will love rwd.

KA is good for a nice solid safe 250 RWHP, 300 if you're lucky. The pistons aren't particuarly suited to turbo duty. A turbo KA can be put together MUCH cheaper than a similar HP SR. Only when you start getting to the power levels where internals are required do they start to become even.

ENG you say KA is good until 250-300 whp. I am looking at a 93 which is dohc- 155 to the fly. 150 to the wheels can't be more than a 20 HP increase.

well, the dohc is very turbo friendly, but the soch can be an NA monster but that takes $$$

I don't quite see what you're trying to say. Yes, 150WHP is about 20HP more than stock will put out (130WHP seems about average, lucky people see 140WHP). I said 250, which is well over 100HP more than stock.

Wow, I am a complete idiot. It has been a long week at school. I can't even tell the difference between a 1 and a 2. Not even taking in to account the major difference that that is. sorry.

actually the dohc can be taken up to 300 hp without problems, and there is a guy from club240 w/ 450 on stock bottom end and so far is ok but th only problem is when it detonations is when there is problems, the sohc is the same as the dohc but dohc and most drag 240s use the sohc

yes man, even if you do nothing, rwd will be WAAAY funner to drive than a busted CRX. the possibilities are endless for a 240, it just sometimes seems to be harder because putting on an intake isn't going to give you the same power increase and puttin one on a honda. prices are gettin cheaper though. Ebay is your friend, just sort though the dumb rice boy stuff that is tryin to be listed on there.
they're a bunch of 240 forums, www.shiftva.com is all about nissans. www.240sxforums.com is another good one.

just be careful if you're going to throw a turbo into it, I've just recently been screwed over by N-sport, their turbo kits would be good if it didn't take 5 months to get to you, and weren't damaged and missing parts, don't go thru them they are scam artist, they still haven't answered their phone, typical, Team Extreme money robbers.
