Default Negative effects of...

...Running without an intake pipe of any kind (ie-straight throttle body) with no filter or anything. Can this damage a motor? I can't see how it could but I think it could have been the demise of a past motor. Call me a newb but I need some insight.

.. the only thing that would burt it would be the lack of a filter. Sucking straight un-filtered air/dirt/etc. into your engine is never, fucking ever, a good idea. The lack of an intake pipe itself surely wouldn't hurt anything, you'd just be sucking warmer air.

only potential problem would be the fact that dirt, mud, sludge, your grandma or water could get in your throttle body, a tiny bit is ok but any more then like 2 specs and ur either gonna have a smoke cloud behind you or your gonna be replacing some things

unfiltered air=death to engine quick

not to mention the fact that you will be inducing turbulent air into the engine...

Yeah I know the lack of the filter is bad, but it was only for a very few miles and I don't think that's what did it. Thanks for the insight guys
