Need help this weekend
what's up all. i just bought slowrex's 91 crx. it needs a little work done to it to get it running properly(well at all for that matter)
here's what i need. my friend and i know our way around cars pretty well but i'm a nissan guy and he's more familiar with toyotas. so combined we know enough to get this thing up and running but i'm worried about the timing being off when i put the new distributor on it and other little things that i just don't want to mess up since this is going to be my daily driver. so here's my offer.
this sun. for any gearhead that's not busy and would like to come over and give me a hand shoot me a pm and i'll give you my number.
i'll supply some grub and beer/soda or whatever.
thanks

It's been a while since I've worked on a Honda (spend more time with V8's) but I think you can't mess up the timing by just changing the distributor. Unless you removed the timing belt you should be just fine, if anything the distrubutor might go in 180 degrees out and if that's the case just spin it around the other way. I'd offer my assitance but I have some car work of my own to take care of tommorrow.

taguba3: i suggest you invest in a Timing Light. will save you some headaches and definitely keep you from fucking something up. make sure you DON'T get the one with the lil spring thingie. i had one too many "shocking" experiences when i was timing my car lol.
