I have a D15 block with y8 head and it going in to an 89 hatch...What ECU do i need? I think a p28, but i wanted to ask to be sure...thanks.

the p28 would be ideal but you would have to get an adapter harness made. fabrik8 makes them. i am assuming that you still have the crappy d15 fuel injection as well? you will need to upgrade to the si intake manifold and fuel injection in order to be able to use the p28 computer.

or you can forget the rest of this and do the easy way and just wire in an msd rpm switch set at 5000 rpm and just go from there. while this is not the most ideal setup, your vtec will still function.

i used the rpm switch on the same setup and it worked fine. Chahonda did it for me so if you need someone to install he is your guy.
