Default Need help bad

My brothers 03 altima is having some weird problems. It started about a month ago , the car would just turn off and take 10-15 tries to get it started again and its been doing this on a daily basis since then. The check engine light came on about the 3rd day it was doing it, my friend hooked it up to a diagnostic test at his work and it said it was the crank shaft position sensor, but then a day later the check engine light went off but its still turning off all the time and its kind of dangerous because it always seems to cut off on the busiest streets. Anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix it? Thanks in advance

Dealership. It mostlikely is that sensor. It's cutting off becuase the ECU doesnt know whats going on with the crank to spark send fuel. Happened in my car now its running perfect. Then again it can be in your dizzy or hell one of my probs was the ignition coil fuse

So he should just get a new sensor? There not that much , i think 30-40$ but i heard places would charge quite a bit for labor

Those sensors are expensive. I would ONLY use one from Nissan. they're a couple hundred. To ge tthem out most of the times they have to be heated. I would take it to the dealership and have them look at it. Is it no longer under warranty. On a vehicle that new DEALERSHIP. If you want to do any of them yourself try the fuse

You should check and make sure the sensor itself is not working and not the wiring. I dont know if its a magnetic or hall-effect sensor but you can test it.
