Need DSM Expertise or guidance
I have a 1986 Dodge Lancer Turbo and I'm having some trouble. At first there was no spark and fuel pressure and we were able to solve that by following the electrical diagram and repairing two tracers on the power module. The ignition coil as well as the fuel pump are on this circuit. Well we got it running, but it appears that the power module has blown again, not a tracer, but a component. I would like to know if anyone knows (or knows someone who knows) if these power modules are faulty, or I need to start searching for a component that's pulling too many amps. Thanks for your help everyone.
It would be my guess that you need to check for something that pulls tomany amps. However you could check with HRC or MachV they could tell you what you would need to do or try to do to fix the car. With the way it sounds that might be your best bet is just to go ahead and contact Hahn Racecraft or machV.
Thanks for your input 91, it's not the "ECU". In this car there are two computerised units, the "Logic Module" which would be your main processing unit and your "Power module" Which oddly enough controls coil fire. IT's a very strange setup because main power runs through the logic module and then to whatever subsystems or the power module, which then goies to other subsystems including ignition, fuel pump, and injectors.
