Exclamation Mini-Me ECU Help

I’m looking at doing a mini-me, “Frankenstein,” swap. I have a D16A6 block, a D16Y8 head, D16Z6 pistons and rods, and all the necessary gaskets, bolts, etc. needed, as far as I know. What ECU should I be running? I have the PM6. However, I’ve been hearing a lot about the P28, can this be wired directly to the VTEC solenoid and can it run off of the 89 CRX Si wiring harness? I’m looking for the best method to stay as low tech and cost as possible, but the idea of an RPM switch isn’t appealing. With the PM6 Hondata is probably what I’d end up doing, but since I was planning on eventually turbocharging, it’s very cost prohibitive >$800. I’m going to search for prices on the P28 harness and ECU, but any recommendations in the mean time would be appreciated.

You need a obd-0 to obd-1 jumper harness in order to use your d16a6 wiring harness with the p28,Or you can use the d16z6 wiring harness with obd-1 injectors and vtec distrubitor.Whenever I do mini me swaps for people I stick with the pm6 and a vtec controller. Its pretty"low tech",reliable and cheap.

I can convert your PM6 to have a vtec output, would that help you? Total cost is around $100 if you have your 89 PM6.. Go here for more info..

Thanks for the info. By the way, how familiar with the Mini-Me are you? With the setup I described, do you think I'll run into problems with detonation if running regular gas? Also, with the obd-0 (D16A6 harness) to obd-1 jumper harness with a p28 ECU can I just run one wire to the solenoid from the ECU? If so that would seem the best method and would let me use the stock Honda fuel maps, VTEC controls, etc. That sounds like exactly what I want.

YES FABRIK8!! HEs doing 2 of my ecu's as soon as i get my zifs!! Dont bother converting to P28 when you can keep your ecu and have 1 wire vtec instead of 3 wire!!! Using the PM6 will be way easier!!
