Re: Mini-Me
D16A1 pistons are for DOHC, if you put them in a single cam, off the bat you're looking at around a 12:1 CR. Depending on the head, and headgasket you run, you can get around a 13.1:1 CR.(Y8 block/Z6 head)

a1 pistons in a y7 block with a z6 head and a y8 head gasket will yield you about 11.6 comp ratio...http://www.zealautowerks.com/dseries.html

Re: Mini-Me
ok so I didnt have the CR ratio off the top of my head perfect from a setup I've never owned. I however have owned a 13.1:1 Y8 block/Z6 head combo.
Regardless he isn't talking about A1 pistons unless he wants a beast all motor setup, which doesn't seem that way.

Re: Mini-Me
so can we get back on topic real quick and then you guys can duke it out. i know the a1 pistons are DOHC but i thought they where the same bore. they came in the 88? tegs right. and the a6 pistons are the 88-91 crx si. i was just wondering which one would be better. im getting ready to pop the head off but before i put the z6 head on i just wanted some info on it. thanks.

Re: Mini-Me
if you want higher compression. go to the site that the other guy and I posted. play with the 2 you have in question. for all motor sohc high comp the best pistons are p29. but im pretty sure the pistons are the same size 75mm
