Max rev limit question
For the Prelude vtec, I am getting a chip that is going to allow me to redline at 8500, is that going to be too high for my engine? should I be careful with how much I do it or what?

why? thats all i'm asking?
unless you ahve some cams that produce power past the stock cut off, my question to you is WHY? thats alot of wear and tear on a engine for no use, and might even slow your times, because when we shift we basically get pushed back into our max torque around 5800ish
i'd say its useless, unless your cams and tuned.

yeah, make sure that you get a really good oil pump for that...pushing that hard will suck the fucking oil out of your engine and leave it in the pan...where it doesn't belong, not to mention a good set of dual valve springs to support hi-rpm running. But like the other guys said...why? Running that high of an rpm is probably only good for drag launching...is that in your future?
