wait, you said the car idled like shit after the new mas went in, and then you said the car ran fine after you put a new mas in?

my girl has 97 gsx as well. her MAS went bad and was throwing a CEL, but the car was running fine. i put a new one in and the car stopped throwing the CEL...so maybe your old MAF is bad?

ok sorry, first part was copied from my post on my home board.

we put on the new mas, and it idled fine until we reved it a bit, adjusted the biss (base idle screw set) and pull it out of the garage.

it started to idle funky once we got it moving

possibly because it got warm when you started to drive it around? im not really a DSM guy, one of them should be able to help you more. try waiting till it's warm and set the idle to 800 with the BISS with the new MAF in and see how it drives.

Check your voltage going to the maf, from the maf, and there should also be a ground wire. Get back to use with those values.
