It's a Hayame muffler, but looking at the whole exhaust, it looks home-made. The welds are reflective of wire-feed welding. The whole exhaust has rusted completely. I have no clue how old the exhaust is.

I'm going with a lightweight forged steel flywheel that weighs 10 lbs. The Rx-7 is in line for some nice upgrades. Hopefully I will be one of the many owners of this car that will get it all right.

 

i know what exhaust it is. auto-solutions did it, and crappy at that. the exhaust is maybe a year old.... haha...

 

A lightweight flywheel is defiantly a good investment, but for the record even though you probably were not going to do this, getting a stock one lightened is one of the worst things to do. Iv seen some nasty results.

I was wondering to myself what weight flywheel I should get, when its clutch time, might as well do both.

 

When it comes to lightening a stock flywheel there is only so much you can take off before it comes unstable and thats not enough to notice a difference, and also if is not professionally done(not balanced or shaved too much) your flywheel will break apart and destroy your tranny and motor. I have seen pics of this and the motors were destroyed. When your looking for a weight it all depends on you. If you go real light like 8-9 lbs you will rev up fast but downshifting at first will be weird do to your RPM's dropping quicker. Some ppl don’t like this but I got used to it pretty quick.When you go up to 12lbs there is not that big a difference but daily driving is easy.

 

O ok. Thank you. I don't care about if my leg hurts or not, or if the revs drop really fast. I just don't want my car to not be reliable. Thats why I'm prepping before boost.

Again Qwiksillva, I apolgize for the thread hi-jack. I know nothing about RX7s, but since they don't have torque, wouldn't you want it rev faster? Correct?

not lightening the stock one but buy a lighter one is GREAT youll notice the diff

 

for an import rx-7s carry some torque with them. specially his rx-7. i used to own it before i sold it to chris. at the time all it had wrong was a throttle cable and needed a new piece connecting to the maf. and ran really rich. chris fixed it up a good bit before he sold it and when he did it ran better and you really felt the torque. put yeah dont doubt this rx-7.

I'm fond of the old skool 7s, as I am with the old school Supras.

 

anyone know if they Fidanza 10lb aluminum flywheel for the MKIII are any good??
