integra tranny build! help

Default integra tranny build! help

ok i have 2 trannys. a b16 of a delsol vtec and an ls off a 2000 teggy! the ls has a broken diff and the b16 has no 3rd gear. im takn the 2 apart to make 1 good one but wut combo of gears should i use. should i just replace the b16 3rd with the one from the ls? or put the ls final drive in the b16 also? where can i find specs on the gears?

Oh...you are not wanting to do that!!!

Here are some tranny gear facts, straight from the helms manual!
B16 - vs - LS
Y21/S21 vs S80
3.307 - vs - 3.230 1st
2.105 - vs - 1.900 2nd
1.458 - vs - 1.269 3rd
1.107 - vs - 0.966 4th
0.848 - vs - 0.714 5th
3.000 - vs - 3.000 rev
4.400 - vs - 4.266 FD

As you can see, the LS third is more like the B16's fourth. Swapping out third gears will really only give you two fourth gears.
And...just look at the difference between the two final drive gears. If you hated the slowness of the LS...then you DO NOT want the LS final drive ring gear! BTW, You do know that when you change a ring gear that you must also change the counter shaft to match.
You would be better off selling the LS for what ever you can get for it and buying a new third gear set from Honda for about $200
