idle problems
Alright so i really dont know the technical word or phrase to put this but here I go. I have a 98 teggy gsr with b18c and it will crank and fire up instantly, idles nice and smooth for around 5-10 minutes then idle becomes rough. It will go strong then weak strong then weak. Like rpm will go high then die down then go high again and repeat. Anyone know the cause to this? And also it runs fine when I give it gas and drive around. I have just been idling alot in my garage making sure everything is okay with it and was wondering the problem. I have like 3 gallons in the tank. Thanks

Re: idle problems
just close the garage door and all windows next time. the vacuum will help it run better.... but stay in there for a couple hours or until the gas runs out
its either a vacuum leak, bad/dirty iacv or fitv, or your tb needs an adjustment
and to explain thats idle air control valve, fast idle thermal valve, and throttle body

Re: idle problems
Something that only affects idle has practically no affect on gas mileage. Unless you spend almost as much time idling as you do driving...

Re: idle problems
well living here in hampton roads you get stuck at lights a lot and i dont really travel much on the interstate so yeah.... sitting at a light with my engine revving at 3000rpms, im sure it had some sort of affect. or bouncing from 2000-3000 all the time
