Default HELP TURBO PROBLEMS

installed turbo kit on a 92 acura ls motor about a month ago. Everytime it was boosted past 5 the check engine light would come on and the car starts lagging. I was told to try a new bigger fuel pump so I bought a walbro 255. this did not fix the problem. I was then told to check the check valve. When i checked it I discovered that it was bad. Replaced that today and as soon as I installed the new one the car acted like it didnt want to run at all. Took it off and put it back on and the car ran fine.... except the check engine light is still coming on when the turbo is boosted past 5. Does anybody have any suggestions?????

You're probably overloading the stock MAP sensor, though it shouldn't have a problem until around 9-10 psi. That's probably the issue though. What check valve are you talking about, and what type of engine management are you using? You'll need to switch to something like a GM 2.5bar or 3bar MAP sensor, and you'll need to get the ECU chipped to work with it. There are some ghetto solutions that get around the MAP sensor problem, but ghetto solutions can cause very expensive engine damage. The only real solution is to get a sensor that will work in the range of boost that you need.
If you're only planning on running 5psi, the stock MAP sensor will work fine, but first you need to find out what the problem actually is.

Really though, we don't know anything about your turbo kit or what came with it so it's completely shooting in the dark to try and troubleshoot anything.
