Help please!!! NISSAN
haha I'm just talking out my ass because I went to some snap-on "smoke technology" thing the other nite, basically just a sales pitch for their cheech and chong machine
yeah, no shit. i made one of their tech directors look dumbfounded one night a few years ago at a training session for the MODIS. i sat through it, with my MAC Mentor, and was showing him things that it would do the MODIS wouldnt. needless to say, he wasnt too happy with me, but our shop still wound up buying it
at least i get some decent shit from strap on. managed to get my rep to give me a tranny flush machine to "test out" for a few weeks. then i got a free one from my lube supplier. oh well

Im not sure if this is your problem but figured this might help. If u end up needing one I will try to give you a deal. A used one in the junkyard will do the same thing, and a aftermarket one will too. If this is your problem u must buy a new one from nissan.
i never have problems with the reman ones i install
done three in the last few months if that tells you the frequency of failure. last one i did was 252 installed out the door, with new cap and two year warranty.

Unplug your TPS.
Rev engine past 3k x3 to enable a diagnostic mode (mode where you can properly adjust your idle and timing)
Adjust your idle speed (screw mounted on your IACV- which is mounted on your intake)
Most Nissans with idle surge issues either are misadjusted or have excessive carbon in the IACV (if the adjustment does not work, replace it)
Still do a major tune up like Jesus suggested and replace the fuel filter like Greaser suggested as well.
Usually when the distributer goes bad it might throw a code, I have seen both situations but the symptons are not idle surge. Never use aftermarket electronics they suck.
