It shouldnt even be sitting at that range, it should be below 190.. this is my little brothers car and cant afford to have his car to blow the motor.. im gonna check the sending unit in about 20 minutes when a bay opens up.
Adam that orange "shit" is Dexcool developed by GM and spec'd to last 5 years of 150k. While I'd never let it go that long, it is a superior coolant. I drain/re-fill mine annually.

You have a GM, maybe it's good for your car, but for the rest of the world, that ORANGE SHIT is BAD NEWS, do some research.

I have heard that if subjected to air in the system it can corrode/gum up faster, but if properly maintained it's great.

On a side note, I used Engine Ice in my motorcycle and I couldnt keep it below 130 degrees, then I switched back to regular ole green coolant and water and everything resumed normal operation.
Getting to the point, green coolant and water > all.
