The thermostat gasket should have a split all the way around it which is where the rim of the thermostat slides in it. Should be a recess in the rubber where the little metal thing (whatever its called) should be in. Then it should fit perfect.

Don't forget to open the coolant bleeder valve when filling the radiator with coolant.

Once you fill the radiator up with fluid, start the car and let it run with the car off. as the car warms up, the thermostat will open and get the rest of the air out. Keep adding fluid to the radiator and you see it needs it till it remains full.

Most pre-98 Honda's have them. Reason being is that the t-stat housing is higher than the radiator fill. So air gets trapped. If it has a bleeder valve, make sure you use it or it is gonna over heat. Fill the radiator, crack open the bleeder and fill the radiator with more coolant until it starts running out of the valve. Close valve and fill radiator the rest of the way. THEN you can start the car.

thats fucking gay.

i always just fill my shit and let it run till it gets hott and the thermostat opens then fill it up once all the air leaves the system then i put the radiator cap on sounds easier to me

whats weird is that some cars have 'em, some dont. never really understood why ALL of them or none did.
