Default Headers

Well fellas and girls, I need some suggestions, I have a jdm b20 with a gsr cable tranny, getting ready to go vtec with a b18 gsr head. Only thing done to the car so far is no p/s. Ctr crank pulley, removed a/c. a 99 gsr oem header and a tanabe medallion touring exhaust.

Its going to be a street car, track just once in a while. So of course thats why I picked the b20 for the low end.

Im currently in the market for a header for this set up. Im wondering what you guys and gals have had luck with.

Im looking at an ITR header, or Megan Racings 4-1 header. I have dc sports on my bb4 and I will never ever buy dc sports again they are junk.

So again what have you all had luck with.

I got the ceramic for my bb4 they are cracked in serveral places, and rusty around the welds, and my ludes not even low enough to scrape the header.

sorry about your luck with them, but i am from CA so rust was not a problem. and rust around a weld is something that most headers are going to so anyway since they can't be 100% rust proof.

edit: also my "temporary" header that i got off e-bay for $80, have only rusted on the runners that have scrapped the ground. have had them since feb.

had both 2 piece 4-2-1 headers. DC sports and Megan Racing. DC sports was ceramic and Megan Racing has a chrome finish. No problems with either one of them and they both fit pretty much the exact same. no clearance problems, then again I junked the stock crossmember for a Place Racing so if there is an issue with that I wouldn't know.

I hate my DC header as well, you make more power out of jdm itr imo

well since your gonna be a 2.0 vtec i would go with a 2.0 header like DTR, SMSP, Hytech

Dont go with an off the self header cause there for 1.8L, it will still work just fine, but the flow wont be as good. Run the proper header you dont want restrictions or not gain your full potential hp

SMSP is right there in Fredricksburg, his name is David, go talk to him to make you one

definately call up Dave(SMSP). tell him Francisco told you to call and get some of his magic done for your car. I stand by his products firm. I've been using them for 2 almost years, been dealing with him for almost 4. He's a stand up guy who has designed the current most power-making header. Its definately money well spent
